St Croix Genetic Testing

Earlier this year we participated in a St Croix genetics study by Dr. Brenda Murdoch at the University of Idaho. We tested the two colored lines we have as well as a handful of white.

As you can see by the red dots in the first image, they scored right in the middle of the cluster.

When that cluster is compared to the clusters of other hair sheep breeds, you can see the St Croix are nowhere near the other groupings.

We’ve taken a lot of flack from folks saying there’s no way our colored St Croix are pure. This study right here proves otherwise! So thankful we participated! For more information regarding the study, please click HERE.
