Recorded 56.25% Katahdin ewe, Cicely – HLW 996, had these beautiful 8lb ram and ewe twin lambs tonight around 9-9:30pm. Sire is Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. First of our commercial St Croix cross program! Finally got a ewe lamb out of this ewe too! Lambs are: 64.84375% St Croix/27.34375% Katahdin/8.59375% Dorper/0.78125% Black Hawaiian/0.78125% Barbados Blackbelly.
I’m keeping the ewe lamb so far. The ram lamb has been wethered and will be sold for market in April.

12/25/22
First timer, Recorded 50% Katahdin ewe (though she is 100% Katahdin), Fenella – HLW 1011, had these twin 8lb ewe lambs early this morning for Christmas! Sire is Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. Great udder, great mom! These lambs are 50% St Croix/50% Katahdin and part of our St Croix cross program.
These girls will likely be sold in April, though if they make the breeding stock cut remains to be seen.

12/30/22 – early AM
6 year old, Registered St Croix ewe, Flora – HHR 992, had twins! 9lb ram and 7lb ewe. Sire is Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. Nice babies, awesome mom!
The ram lamb is potentially spoken for and the ewe lamb didn’t grow well so will be a market lamb come April.

12/31/22 – 1:00am
6 year old, Registered St Croix ewe, Daphne – Summit 3015, had twin ewe lambs! The white is 10lbs the colored is 8lbs. Sire is Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. Wonderful mother!
The white lamb will make a fantastic breeding ewe and will be up for sale with papers in April. The other lamb wasn’t thrifty and will go for market.

12/31/22 – morning
First timer, 2 year old, Commercial Recorded 50% Katahdin ewe, Mouse – HLW 1009, had twin ewe lambs! 8 and 9 lbs. Sire is Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. Lambs are 50% Katahdin/50% St Croix. She’s a bit nervous so there might be some holding her for the lambs to nurse but she’ll probably settle down.

1/2/23 – 10:45 pm
First timer, 2 year old, Registered St Croix ewe, Tiny – HHR 1003, had a 9lb ewe lamb tonight. Sire is Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. She settled right down and is a good mom.
So far I’m keeping her!

1/3/23 – morning
This is a very resigned first timer. We had to have a discussion to let the lamb nurse after some barn confusion this morning. Dam is an almost 2 year old, Registered St Croix Ewe, Yarrow – Swecker RVR 2105, and sire is Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. Ewe lamb is 8lbs.
This little girl will likely be sold in April, though if she makes the breeding stock cut remains to be seen.

6 year old, Registered Katahdin ewe, Sugar – HLW 993, had a 12lb ram lamb and a 10lb ewe lamb out of Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. Lambs are 50% Katahdin/50% St Croix. She’s one of our best ewes! Really nice babies, great mom with a great udder!
I plan to keep the ewe lamb so far and the ram lamb may be spoken for.

1/7/23 – early morning
4 year old Registered Katahdin ewe, Poppy – HLW 100, had twin ewe lambs! The lighter one is 10lbs and the brown one is 9lbs. Sire is Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. Lambs are 50% Katahdin/50% St Croix. Great mom, great udder.
One of these girls will likely be sold in April as commercial breeding stock.

1/7/23 – afternoon
4 year old Registered Katahdin ewe, Panda – HLW 1002, had a 9lb ram and 10lb ewe lamb this afternoon! Sire is Registered St Croix Ram, Titus – Swecker RVR 2102. Lambs are 50% Katahdin/50% St Croix. Her first set of twins!
I plan to keep the ewe lamb for now. The ram lamb is likely going to be castrated and sold for market in April.

1/15/23 – Evening
9 year old 50% Katahdin/50% St Croix ewe, Sprite – SUM 3001, had 7 and 8lb twin ewe lambs out of Registered St Croix Ram, Titus Swecker RVR 2102. Lambs are 75% St Croix, 25% Katahdin.
