We had the last of the lambs this last week with an old lady giving us beautiful twins!

1/15/23 – Evening

9 year old 50% Katahdin/50% St Croix ewe, Sprite – SUM 3001, had 7 and 8lb twin ewe lambs out of Registered St Croix Ram, Titus Swecker RVR 2102. Lambs are 75% St Croix, 25% Katahdin.

Current Stats:
21 lambs out of 12 ewes this year. Only 4 of those are ram lambs.
Purebred St Croix = 1 ram, 6 ewes
Crossbred = 3 rams, 11 ewes.

On Thursday, the 19th, all 13 yearling ewes got their annual shots for CD/T and BoSe. Wormed who needed it too. Rams are getting done another day!

Chicken News

Again we are still averaging 12-15 eggs per day. The Olive Eggers don’t seem to be doing too much and I can’t tell apart the brown egg layers too much except the Dominant Copper are really dark brown. I know the Light Brahma lay medium eggs and like to lay from October through May so I’m sure a few are from them. Sure glad we have them! Any money we make on eggs helps buy their food. It’s not a profit for us. We just enjoy having healthy, fresh eggs whenever we need them!
